I’ve read a lot of good books about marriage through the years. They have literally shaped what I think about marriage, and thus, they have shaped my own marriage.
Sometimes as I’m reading I’ll find a real gold nugget. Even if I don’t think the rest of the book is particularly outstanding, there is often a gem hidden in its pages. Other times, it’s the summation of the author’s whole point, in one simple sentence.
For example, this sage piece from Dr. Laura Schlessinger in Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands
“Sex is to a husband what conversation is to a wife.”
You can’t beat the power of that quotation to bring home the point to a wife (or to a husband, for that matter–but this is a blog for the ladies, remember).
I’ve collected my favorite spicy tidbits through the years. Now I want to share them with you.

Print them out. Write them on a 3×5 card. Tuck them in your sock drawer as a little reminder to skip the socks and pull something out of the lingerie drawer instead. Tape one on your mirror to let your husband know you’ve got his interests in mind. Use one as a bookmark to remind yourself to romance your hubby before you fall asleep reading.
Share them with your married friends. Stick a few nicely lettered cards of quotables in a lingerie gift at a bridal shower. And be sure to send us your own favorite married ladies quotables, too.

I love this idea! I was brought up to believe that sex is bad and shameful, and now that I'm married, it's really hard to switch over to a positive mindset. I've done a lot of work on it, though, and I've come really far! I look forward to the quotables!
